Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and VINEdots, a part of Vine Education Co. ("VINEdots", "we", "us"), for using the VINEdots app, website and portal and taking our English classes (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Two ways to be a VINEdots student

  • Program students take classes under a contract between VINEdots and you or your employer (for example 1-on-1 or company group classes). That contract sets the classes, hours, price, cancellation and refund rules. If it conflicts with these terms, the contract wins.
  • App members sign up in the app and may buy a subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Sections 6 and 7 cover subscriptions and cancelling.

2. Your account

  • You sign in with your email and password, or with Google or Apple. Keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Give us accurate details and keep your email up to date, since it is how you sign in and how we reach you.
  • You must be 18 or older.
  • One account per person. If you already study with us, use the email we have for you so your classes and progress stay together; we may merge duplicate accounts.

3. Classes

  • Join online classes from the app using the link we provide (Zoom, Microsoft Teams or similar). Joining a class records your attendance.
  • Be on time and respectful to teachers and classmates. We may remove anyone who disrupts a class or harasses others.
  • Classes may be recorded for your review; recordings are kept for 3 months, then deleted. Don't record, share or post classes, materials or other students' details yourself.
  • Rescheduling, missed classes and "did not show" rules follow your program contract or the class's terms.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post or upload (wall posts, assignments, voice and video recordings, files). You give us permission to store it, show it to your teachers (and to classmates where you share it), and use it to run your classes. Don't upload anything illegal, offensive, someone else's private information, or material you don't have the right to share. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

5. AI features

Some features use AI to explain class notes, build exercises or help teachers plan. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Use it as practice, not as authority, and ask your teacher when unsure. Don't enter private or sensitive information into AI features.

6. Payments and subscriptions

  • Program students: fees, payment terms, cancellations and refunds are set out in your student contract.
  • App subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple or Google. They renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Prices are shown before you buy.
  • Refunds for store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We don't give partial refunds for unused time, unless the law requires it.

7. Cancelling and deleting your account

  • App members can delete their account in the app (Profile) or by emailing info@vinedots.com. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription; cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings.
  • Program students' accounts are part of their program and stay open for its length. To end the program, follow your contract. To ask for your data to be deleted, see our Privacy Policy.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, misuses the Service or is unpaid. Where reasonable, we will warn you first.

8. Our content

The app, website, lesson materials, class notes, exercises and the VINEdots name and logo belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own learning. Don't copy, sell, share or reuse them without our written permission, and don't try to copy, break into or overload the Service.

9. The Service is provided as is

We work hard to keep the Service available and accurate, but we don't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, or that you will reach a particular English level or test score.

10. Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost opportunities. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Taiwan law, including your rights as a consumer.

11. Changes

We may change these terms or the Service. We will post the new terms here with a new date and tell you in the app or by email if a change is significant. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China). Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem. If we can't, disputes go to the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance, unless consumer law gives you the right to another court.

13. App stores

If you got the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and VINEdots, not Apple or Google, and Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
